When I was a teenager, I used to hear many people say “I don’t believe in using credit cards.” What I came to realize is that “I don’t believe in using credit cards” is code for “I don’t believe in debt”, and that idea I can get on board with. But using a credit card and paying your bill off on time is not debt. It’s convenience. Today, almost everyone uses credit cards, and most do it purely for that convenience. But a funny thing has happened over the years: not only can you now easily swipe a card and then get your charges summarized in a monthly bill, banks are willing to reward you for doing so. Those rewards come in the form of cash back, airline miles, hotel points, and more.
I am happy to offer two series of articles on the site. The first, shown below, will explain how to get into the points/miles hobby and the second provides real examples of how I go about taking these trips. I hope you will find them enlightening and inspiring!
